What's new

22 highlights

Dark mode New

Switch between light and dark in the header, or let Geek Divers follow your device. Every screen and dialog has both.

A new planning board New

Built for the morning rush: every departure is a card, and you plan by dragging people onto it.

  • Departure cards with boat, sites, guide and seats, and a header with the day's numbers.
  • A floating dock of guests and staff, searchable, that you drag from onto any trip.
  • One boat, one destination: the board warns when a boat is sent to two places at once.
  • Capacity counts everyone on board, guests, staff and crew, each person once.
  • Closed trips stay visible and locked; course cards are marked.
  • Courses on the board: create a course there, see the ones not on a boat yet, and put them on a transport.
  • Placeholder trips: book the boat and the time before you know what goes on it, and fill it in later.
  • A link from any day on the Activity Calendar opens that day on the board.

Live updates across the team New

When a colleague changes a trip, course or task, your activity calendar updates by itself within a second. No more reloading to see if the boat is still free.

The Day sheet New

Who arrives today, when their flight lands, what they need and who has to be told. Arrivals, departures and in-house guests, grouped by flight, course or hotel, ready to print for the driver.

A Pick-up list shows everyone on a trip or course that day across all trips: where they stay, when they are collected and which tour (vehicle) they ride on.

A dashboard that answers the morning questions New

  • Money in and out, open bills, today's and tomorrow's departures, who lands today, rooms occupied tonight, who is on shift.
  • Stock that is running low and tanks that are out of test.
  • Every card opens the screen behind it, and each person only sees what their permissions allow.
  • A Setup checklist that walks new centres through prices, rooms, staff and partners.

Finance dashboard and new reports New

  • One Finance dashboard with a period, a month chart and your saved reports as one-click views.
  • Trip fill: how full your boats really went.
  • Guest value: what a guest is worth over their stay.
  • Customer tags: the "how did you find us" answers, month by month.
  • A rebuilt Accommodation report with occupancy and rates per room.

Accommodation, the way you actually book New

  • Drag a reservation to another room or date on the calendar, with the new price shown before you confirm.
  • Change the stay dates right from the booking sidebar, longer or shorter.
  • An open quote's rooms move with the quote when you change its dates.
  • Quotes past their validity show as "Due" on the calendar, with the date they expired.
  • Guests on a quote are the real people, and their names carry over to the bill.
  • A new booking sidebar with the stay, the guests and the bill or quote above it.
  • Room add-ons: a fee or extra from the price list, such as a tourist tax, added by itself to every booking of a room type, per room or per guest and night.

Service charge New

A service charge per price list item, room or meal plan, shown per position on the bill, printed on the invoice (or not, your choice), exported in the CSVs, and never counted into commissions. A switch per centre turns it on.

Price list: bulk edit and PDF import New

  • Bulk edit prices, tax and included rates across many items at once, with a preview before and an undo after.
  • Import a price list from a PDF into ready-to-check items (on request).
  • A redesigned price list and item editor that keeps your search and filter when you come back.

Trip Builder New

Replaces the old New Trip screen: simpler, clearer and quicker to put a trip together, with who is aboard as avatars, advanced search, and creating a customer on the spot.

  • Trips open in a sidebar right from the Activity Calendar; agents and Close trip are in the builder too.
  • Trip extras such as a site fee or lunch, charged to every guest in the group.
  • A bag number, hotel or room typed on a trip is remembered for the diver.
  • Open a guest's customer page from their name, and a course from the trip that carries it.

Courses, rebuilt New

  • A new course page with its students, its planned trips and its tasks.
  • A checklist per student: a tick for each task they have done and "3 / 5" beside their name. Each course type keeps its own default list.
  • Add or remove a student once, and the change carries over to the course's planned trips, instead of trip by trip.
  • Every course picker says which course it is and who is on it.

Activity calendar upgrades New

  • Trips are titled with the boat name.
  • A Day off & leave toggle shows staff absences from the staff calendar.
  • Multi-day tasks such as holidays sit in the all-day strip instead of crowding the day, and so can one-day courses.
  • Your own view: zoom out to see a whole week, and set the text size, colour and brightness. Each person's settings are kept for them.
  • Every group on a trip is named with its activity, and dive sites and guests are listed one below the other.
  • Move or copy a task by drag and drop.

Equipment checks New

  • Record the regular checks of tanks, regulators and all other equipment; Geek Divers works out when each one is due next.
  • Counters for overdue, due soon and never-checked equipment, and a report you can print or export, for everything or for one item or type.
  • Overdue items are highlighted on the equipment list and the dashboard.

Equipment on the diver New

  • The customer's gear shown on a diver figure, with a switch back to the classic list.
  • An equipment calendar as a rental timeline, one colour per diver.
  • The equipment list is coloured by what needs attention, shows each type as a drawn icon, and keeps its filters when you come back from an item.

Online registration, redesigned New

  • A new step-by-step design, with dark mode and your brand colour.
  • Guests enter their arrival flight; picking a check-in fills in the flight's date.
  • Approving a registration sends the welcome mail.
  • The online booking form can tell guests how to pay a deposit, with a Pay now button to your own payment page. No money passes through Geek Divers.

Find and merge duplicate customers New

Customers > Possible duplicates shows records that may be the same person side by side, the most likely first, with the differences marked. Merge them in one step, and bills, bookings and open trips move with the customer. Two people who only look alike can be marked as different, so they are not suggested again.

Marketing: the Audience Builder New

Build a mailing list from who has actually dived with you.

  • Pick the courses and trips they did, and the ones they never did: "did Advanced Open Water, never did Rescue" is your Rescue mailing.
  • Narrow it by period and by last visit, for a win-back list of guests who have not been back for a year.
  • Only guests who agreed to the newsletter, if you want, using the consent from the online registration.
  • The audience is counted before you export it, and one sentence says in plain words who is in it. Export as CSV for your mailing tool.

POS and stock management New

Brand new: keep your shop and rental stock in Geek Divers. Sell items straight on the bill, and the stock counts down by itself.

  • An inventory screen with stock value, item and low-stock counts, tabs for shop and rental items, search and a Low stock only switch.
  • Stock bars on every row, a warning for items running out, and an SKU per item.
  • A stock history where every sale links to its bill; items running low also show on the dashboard.

Bills, invoices and the cash book New

  • A redesigned bill and invoice screen, and partner invoices grouped by quote.
  • Download all closed bills of a period as one PDF each, in a zip.
  • Attach receipts to a cash flow entry, as many as it needs.
  • Verify and check in straight from the customer's header.
  • "Check payment by": set the day to look whether a bank transfer came in, and the bill shows up on the dashboard from that day until it is paid.
  • A package comes first on the bill, with the positions it covers right below it.
  • Check in a group: find customers by tag and add several to a bill at once.
  • Refunds on partner invoices, as a negative payment.

Quiet notifications New

Messages now stack in one corner, merge when they repeat ("×3"), pause while you read them, and never cover a dialog you are answering. Errors stay until you close them.

Bring your lists in from spreadsheets New

Import customers, staff, dive sites, rental gear and bookings you have already taken from a CSV file. Every line is checked before anything is saved, with what is wrong with it shown in plain words, and doubles are skipped. A ready-made course checklist pack gets new centres started.

A user guide New

A full guide with screenshots of every screen, at www.geekdivers.cloud.

Made better

  • Redesigned for easier use: the customer, staff and partner/agent pages, all settings, quotes, exports, equipment, every list, bills, financial reporting, the registration and booking forms, and messages. Plus brand colour presets.
  • Tabs instead of long menus: customers, staff, partners, bills, invoices, quotes and equipment each open as one screen with tabs.
  • One date picker everywhere, with Today and Clear.
  • Works on phones and tablets: forms no longer crumple on small screens.
  • Your centre's clock, everywhere: calendars, reports, the dashboard and the day sheet show the dive centre's day and time, even when opened from another time zone.
  • Faster closed bills: the list loads page by page with search and sorting, instead of every bill ever made.
  • The partner invoice downloads as "Partner - Invoice number.pdf".
  • Transports may overlap by default; "one trip at a time" is a switch per piece of equipment.
  • Always the latest version: an open Geek Divers notices a new release, tells you, and reloads by itself two minutes later.
  • A customer's Activities tab lists the trips each activity went out on, and can hide closed activities, on screen and in print.
  • An X at the end of a row on the Quotes list cancels or archives the quote, and a guest's name on a quote opens their customer page.
  • The staff calendar's hover card says what an entry is.

Fixed

Along the way we also sorted out a few things that had bothered us for a while:

  • Room prices across a season boundary and across the daylight-saving change are counted night by night; a stay over the October change was priced one night too many.
  • Bill exports and the cash flow cover exactly the dive centre's days, so every browser gets the same totals, wherever it is.
  • Stay dates and flight times from the online registration are stored as the dive centre's time.
  • Tasks and holidays that started before the visible range no longer disappear from the calendar.
  • Nitrox ticked for a course student on a trip now reaches the bill.
  • A customer document keeps its expiry date, and deleting it removes the file too.
  • A printed bill lists its positions by date.
  • Working in a background tab no longer ends in "Database is closing", and an expiring login no longer signs you out.

Under the hood

  • Upgraded from Angular 15 to Angular 21, and the server to Node.js 24.
  • Security: file uploads go through the server with signed links, allowed-origin checks, security headers and protection against request floods. Every new login gets its own random first password.
  • 158 automated end-to-end tests run through the app's main workflows before every release.
